Join Frankie Boland of Newbridge Local History Group for an hour long walk through The Barracks housing in Newbridge Town Centre as he reminisces and tells the stories gathered and retold in his book on one of the oldest residential areas in the town 'From the Barrack Gate to The Watering Gates'.

The housing estate known as The Barracks is situated on Newbridge Main Street, behind the Garda Station and adjacent to St. Conleth’s GAA Park. The area was originally part of the British Garrison’s Married Quarters, hence the popular title.
